I think I love finger food more than Christmas dinner itself. If you’re vegan, you know as well as I do that lots of foods that seem like they should be plant-based end up containing milk or something else. So, I’ve out together a list of vegan appetizers and plant-based finger food for Christmas.
Whether you’re hosting your extended family or staying in and watching a few movies, this vegan party food is to die for. These vegan entrées are also perfect for Thanksgiving or any family gathering or event you might find yourself hosting.
Plant-Based Party Food Ideas For Christmas
Linda McCartney Sausage Rolls
Granted, it’s been a good few years since I last had a *real* sausage roll so I don’t know if I’m the best person to say if something tastes real. I think the Linda McCartney sausage rolls taste identical to the real thing. I’ve tried a lot of other brands and I think this is as good as it gets – except for Greggs, if you’re in the U.K.
Although it says vegetarian on the packet, these are vegan-friendly finger food too.
Oven-roasted chickpeas are one of my favourite snacks. They’re the perfect vegan appetizers for Christmas dinner or as finger food during a party. Personally, I like them really spicy but they’re very easy to customise. You can enjoy them hot, savory or sweet!

Hummus & Crackers
I eat hummus and oat cakes every day! But, this snack doubles as a great vegan finger food for a Christmas party. Plus, there’s pretty much no prep work.
Falafel is a staple in most vegan’s diets. Personally, I’m not a fan of most store-bought falafel because it tends to be dry and bland.
If you have the time, I recommend making falafel from scratch – or using a kit. They can be dipped into hummus for the perfect vegan finger food over Christmas.
Sliced carrots, bell peppers and celery are also a great dipped in hummus and can be enjoyed alongside falafel.
Pasta chips have been all over social media lately and for good reason. They take a lot of prep work, but they’re delicious if you love snacks with a crunch. Like chickpeas, these vegan appetizers can be customised depending on whether you love sweet, savory or spicy food.

Some people might want to roast almonds from scratch but it’s completely up to you. They’re easily available in lots of grocery stores which make them a convenient vegan appetizer for Christmas dinner.
Crispy Tofu Satay
To replace chicken tenders, you can make crispy tofu strips. Before I was vegan, I adored chicken satay. To make this vegan finger food for Christmas, combine Bianca Zapatka’s crispy tofu recipe with my satay sauce. Place the tofu on a skewer and dip into the sauce!
Seitan is less popular than tofu, but honestly, it’s pretty good and is a nice change. It has a much meatier texture. That said, if you can’t eat gluten, then tofu works just fine!
